Rules for Progress Report
The Progress Report is an essential record of a student’s academic performance, discipline, and overall development. It is prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education and reflects both scholastic and co-scholastic achievements.
-
Periodic Assessment:
The academic session is divided into periodic assessments, unit tests, half-yearly, and annual examinations. The Progress Report is based on cumulative performance throughout the year.
-
Grading System:
Evaluation is done using the CBSE grading system, which includes marks/grades for both academic subjects and co-curricular activities.
-
Holistic Evaluation:
Apart from academics, equal importance is given to discipline, attendance, behavior, participation in activities, and overall personality development.
-
Parent Acknowledgement:
Parents/guardians are required to carefully review and sign the Progress Report when issued and return it to the class teacher within the specified time.
-
Promotion Policy:
Promotion to the next class is based on overall performance in all assessments as per CBSE norms. Mere passing in final exams may not guarantee promotion if overall performance is unsatisfactory.
-
Attendance Requirement:
A minimum attendance percentage (generally 75% or as per CBSE rules) is required for eligibility to appear in examinations and for promotion.
-
Re-evaluation Policy:
The decision of the school regarding evaluation and promotion is final. Requests for rechecking/re-evaluation may be considered only as per school policy.
-
Loss or Damage:
If a Progress Report is lost or damaged, a duplicate may be issued on written request along with the prescribed fee.
-
Teacher’s Remarks:
The remarks given by teachers should be taken seriously as they reflect the student’s strengths and areas needing improvement.
-
Regular Monitoring:
Parents are encouraged to regularly monitor their child’s academic progress and maintain communication with teachers for better performance.
